Hello all - I have been interested in photography for the past 40+ years but more intensly so for the past 6-7 years. I decided to begin developing my skill level so I have read bunches of books, experimented with images (frequently to my disappointment) and participated in workshops. I have also taken a couple of courses with Betterphoto. A few years ago I purchased a Nikon F100 and sent sent about gathering lenses. I swithced to digital earlier in 2009 when I purchased a D700. Currently I am using 80-200 F2.8, 300 f4, 24-85 f3.5-4.5, 105 f2.8 micro and a 1.4 teleconverter. I use my Bogen tripod with a Really Right Stuff ball head in about 99% of my images. I shoot mostly nature (landscapes, flowers, intimate images of natural scenes, etc) and family. I participate in my grandson's Boy Scout troop so I have become the unoffical photographer of the troop.
My goals are to continue building my skills, perhaps sell a few images but mostly continue to have fun. I derive a tremendous sense of peace, satisfaction and joy when engaged in the photograhic process.
In my real life, I am a psychotherapist in private practice along with my wife. Additionally I work part time for an organization that provides psychotherapy in nursing homes. Currently our daugher lives with us along with our grandson. I live rual Southwest Ohio.
