Cedar Waxwing with Berry

Uploaded: April 04, 2023 15:01:25 | Entered: April 04, 2023 15:02:15

Description

The juniper tree or bush is coniferous and its berries are actually cones. They just have fleshy, over-lapping scales that make them look like berries. Cedar waxwings don't hang around in our area, but they do migrate through and, if you're lucky enough and the tree or grove of trees they find has enough fruit on it, they hang around a day or two stripping it before they are on their way to Canada for breeding and the summer. Not only are there all those blue berries, but his eyes are blue, too. The clarity makes me think I'm looking at him standing beside you. Really nice one! #1798035
